About The Checked Guide
The Checked Guide is run by Masquadito, in the UK.
What the site is for
When you're deciding what to buy or how to do something, most search results are either marketing or someone's unexplained opinion. This site tries to give you the facts and a straight answer instead, with the sources listed so you can check them yourself.
It covers tech and gadgets; home, energy and kitchen; work and study setups.
How each guide is made
- Research first. Every guide is built from at least two named sources, such as manufacturer documentation, official project pages and published reporting. They're listed under "References" at the end.
- Figures are checked. Numbers and specifications in a guide are checked against those sources before it's published.
- AI helps with drafting. Drafts are written with AI assistance from that research, and each guide says so at the foot of the page.
- A person reads it. Nothing is published until it has been read and approved.
- No invented experience. A guide only says "I tested this" when it's marked as a review and the product was actually used. First-hand notes appear in a separate box headed "From the author".
- Opinions are credited. When a guide quotes a reviewer's judgement, it names and links them.
How the site is paid for
Some guides may carry affiliate links. The Disclosure page explains how that works and how products are chosen.
